Wellsoft
Wellsoft is a soft, fibrous-surfaced textile material with a fluffy back side, made from 100% polyester fibres. The characteristic feature of wellsoft textile is its dense, plush-like feel and a structure that provides a warm sensation. The textile is lightweight yet has good thermal insulation properties, so it is often used for making various home textiles and comfort apparel products. Wellsoft is particularly widespread as a base material for blankets, robes, baby clothes, cushion covers and throws, as the soft surface provides a pleasant sense of comfort. The material is easy to handle, dries quickly, and is also available in many colours or patterns.
Composition and structure
The base material of wellsoft is 100% polyester. The polyester fibres are processed onto a knitted base, and then the surface of the textile is brushed. Thanks to this process, the characteristic plush-like surface forms, which has a soft and dense feel.
The dense arrangement of fibres side by side on the surface creates a special microclimate, trapping small air layers, which contributes to the material's thermal insulation properties. Wellsoft can thus provide a pleasant warm sensation without the material being too heavy. Due to the stable structure of the polyester fibres, the textile can be shape-retaining and resistant during everyday use. In blanket making, the same role is filled by cozy fleece made from micropolyester.
