Single Terry Towel + TPU is a special textile with a 100% cotton surface laminated with a TPU membrane, providing both complete waterproofing and breathability. Its 170 g/m² weight and 150 cm width make it ideal for mattress protectors, fitted sheets and medical textile products. Noise-free in use and has hypoallergenic protective properties. Within the terry towel fabrics, the unlaminated version of this same surface is single-face terry.

Belonging to the single-sided terry base materials, Single Terry Towel + TPU is a special textile with a 100% cotton surface laminated with a TPU membrane, which simultaneously provides waterproofing and breathability. The 170 g/m² weight and 150 cm width make it ideal for manufacturing mattress protectors and healthcare textile products.Single Terry Towel + TPU is a functional textile that combines the classic looped structure of terry with a modern polyurethane (TPU) membrane layer. The cotton terry side provides a soft, skin-friendly feel, while the TPU film on the back side forms a completely waterproof layer. This combination allows the material to protect surfaces from liquids while retaining comfortable use.
Material construction and operating principle
The 100% cotton top layer has natural moisture-absorbing and breathable properties, and can come into direct contact with the skin. The lower TPU membrane is a microporous layer that does not let liquids through, while still allowing vapour to escape. Thanks to this, the material does not cause the skin to feel stuffy, and contributes to a comfortable, dry feeling during use.
The 170 gsm weight provides a lightweight yet functionally stable structure. The 150 cm width is particularly suitable for the economical manufacturing of mattress protectors, elasticated sheets and other larger-surface products.
Applications
The primary application area of Single Terry Towel + TPU is mattress protection and the manufacturing of healthcare textiles. It is an excellent choice as a base material for waterproof elasticated sheets and mattress protectors, where protection against liquids and maintaining a hygienic environment are important.
It can also be used for baby care products, such as changing mat liners, as well as for special textile products where both moisture-blocking and a skin-friendly surface are required. The material's noiseless property ensures that it does not rustle during use, so it remains unnoticed under the textile layers. For apparel purposes the same membrane can also be found in a water-repellent, TPU-film version.
